sharing God's love

We have a many ways you can serve, whether it be through music & worship, hospitality, technology or even help maintaining the building. Explore the different opportunities to see how you can help us carry out our mission to make disciples for Jesus Christ.

Children's Programs

We believe that children’s worship should be one tool parents use to teach their children to love God, others, and themselves in a healthy way.  Your children will be cared for by committed leaders, experience exciting activities, and interact with age-appropriate Bible centered lessons. All of our teachers have undergone a comprehensive background check and we use Safe Sanctuary policies designed to ensure a safe worship environment.

4:12 Kids

4:12 Kids is based on 1 Timothy 4:12 stating ” Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

4:12 gives 3rd graders through 12th graders the chance to explore their faith together and have some fun at the same time.

4:12 Kids currently is on a break and will hopefully return in the future.

Music Ministry

Here at First Church, we offer both traditional and contemporary worship and musical opportunities.  Our 9:00 a.m. service offers music with a pianist and a vocalist.  At 10:00 a.m. the service is accompanied by our organist/pianist, along with a vocalist.  Music Ministry’s mission is to enrich traditional services through singing, instrumental music and liturgical dance.  All musical offerings will promote the seasons and holidays of the church as well as the pastor’s sermon topics.  The Music Ministry hopes to assist worshipers in centering their hearts and minds upon God and create opportunities that lead people to a deeper level of relationship with God.

Life Groups

We have many types of groups that meet throughout the week including: Bible studies, LifeGroups, and Interest Groups.  Proverbs 27:17 tells us that just like iron sharpens iron people sharpen people.

Our Life Groups are a place for you to find community, connection, and growth. Hebrews 10:25 teaches us to continually meet together to encourage each other and Galatians 6:2 instructs us to bear one anothers burdens.  LifeGroups are a place where we gather to talk about the spiritual conditions of our souls.

Pastoral Support

We affirm the role of biblical counseling in the emotional and mental health of people in our faith community.  Through pastoral counseling, lay counseling,  or by referral to local professional counselors we want to provide biblical counsel in the following areas: marital and family relationships, communication, parenting, grief and loss, anger and bitterness, interpersonal struggle, and spiritual guidance.

Outreach Ministry

We view our primary mission as a church to help one another grow into the image of Christ.  An essential part of that calling is taking the love and grace of Christ into our community and our world.  Jesus tells us that we are a city on a hill and that we should let our light shine so that all can see.  Part of showing the love of Christ is identifying opportunities we can meet the physical needs of our community.  We do this through outreaches such as a free school supply shop, distribution of Christmas toys and clothing, cooking and financial classes, and helping with individualized needs as we can.  We believe that the best gift we can give our neighbors is the gift of God’s love.  We believe that journeying with people is more important than meeting a one-time need.  All of our mission and outreach is done with a focus on making disciples for Christ and helping people grow through the love of God.
